Description: Collection of miscellaneous loose prints originally contained in a box file marked on the spine, 'J.P.T. Indian Photos' and with some photograph wallets addressed to Sir John Thompson. The photographs are mainly snapshot views including Lord Irwin's Proclamation Parade in 1931; views in Rajasthan, including Alwar, Bharatpur, Dig, Jodhpur, Bundi, Bikaner, Jaipur and Amber; views also of Hanumangarh, Barwa Sagar, Nowgong, Khajuraho, Datia, Kanpur, Khuldabad, Golconda, Rampur and New Delhi; hunting scenes; views of the Akali Jathas at Jaitu in 1924 (some duplicated in Photo 10/26). There is also some ephemera such as menu cards, greetings cards, newspaper cuttings and a collection of half-tone reproductions of Scenes in Mesopotamia (Being reproductions from eight water colour sketches by Major T.F. Brook).
The collection also contains a number of original negatives..

Collection compiled by Sir John Perronet Thompson (1873-1935), Indian Civil Service 1896-1932. Thompson served as Chief Secretary, Punjab 1916-21; Legislative Council, Punjab 1913-20; Political Secretary to the Government of India 1922-27; Chief Commissioner, Delhi 1928-32.
