Description: A collection of nine albums, recording Stein's fourth Iranian expedition. The journey is described in detail in his Old Routes of Western Iran (London, 1940), where many of these photographs are reproduced.

A.93 L.I Prints 1-40 Grey cloth covered album measuring 170x237mm, containing 40 prints in aperture mounts measuring 99x74mm. The album covers the period 1 June to 29 November 1935. Prints 1-19 are views of Stein's camp at Mohand Marg in Kashmir, and of Srinagar. From print 20 onwards the album starts the documentation of Stein's tour of Iran, with photographs from the following locations: Ardakan, Mullah Susan, Pul-i-murd, Qal'a-safid, Qalat, Shiraz, Tal-i-gird, Rang-i-gerrau, Tang-i-khas.
