Collection of 146 loose snapshots, uncaptioned apart from a few, but sorted into envelopes identifying the location, and in some case the dates, of the photographs. The envelopes are labelled Lucknow 1909 (19 prints); Rohilla 1909 (9 prints); Naini Tal July 1914 (11 prints); Voyage [?]Geranha and Bandra 1915 (11 prints); Meerut (19 prints); Delhi (9 prints); Darjeeling (24 prints); Calcutta (24 prints); Karachi (10 prints); Chakrata (27 prints); Dehra Dun, Hardwar (19 prints); Bombay (4 prints); Kohat Feb-Mar 1924 (9 prints); Rawalpindi 1924 (14 prints); Aden (27 prints).
Frederick Henry Montagu Chapman (b. 1882) served in the Royal Army Medical Corps from 1907. From 1909-15 he was stationed in India and during the First World War served in Mesopotamia from 1915-17. He was again stationed in India from 1917-18 and in Aden from 1924-26. |
