Description: Two photograph albums compiled by Marjorie E. Ussher recording her life as governess to the families of Brigadier Alexander Dickson Stirling (1886-1961) RAMC and Begum Wali-ud-Dowla from 1934-43 and in the Women's Auxiliary Service (Burma) from 1943-45. The collection includes the following material:

D859/17a Black cloth covered album measuring 220x160mm, containing 160 captioned snapshots. The subjects include:
CHAKRATA (1934) The Stirling family bungalow at Chakrata, portrait snapshots of the Stirling family and friends, and views of surrounding country.
JUBBULPORE (1934-36) The Stirling family bungalow at 102 Victoria Road, the Jubbulpore Club, the Empire Cinema, Indian street vendors, family snapshots, views of the Marble Rocks, Allahabad Bank, the Bazaar, the Cecil Hotel.
MEERUT (1935) Proclamation Parade.
BARRACKPORE (1936) House at 18 Riverside, views of the River Hugli.
AGRA (c. 1936) Taj Mahal and Fort.
OOTACAMUND (1941) Boating scenes, Toda village.
