The collection comprises portrait photographs of Indian princes and chiefs present at Lord Lytton's durbar of 1877 (at which Queen Victoria was pronounced Empress of India) and Lord Curzon's Delhi Durbar of 1903. Stephen Wheeler, the donor of the collection, was presumably related to J.
