Description: Red quarter leather bound album (modern rebinding) measuring 275x375mm, the majority of prints mounted two to a page with neat handwritten captions beneath each print. The album contains views of locations connected with the disturbances in the Punjab in 1919, particularly the masscare at Amritsar. The views were probably taken to provide an official record of damage to property that took place during this period, as well as to provide a visual guide to some of the events at Amritsar in 1919. The photographs are grouped by place and show the following locations: Lahore (prints 1-3), Chheharta (4-6), Bagtanwala (7-10), Kasur (11-16), Wagah (17-18), Gujranwala (19-43), Amritsar (44-104).
