| Description: |
Collection of loose uncaptioned snapshots. The majority are head studies of individuals identified by a chalk board which they hold. There is no accompanying information relating to these photographs which were probably taken as part of a study or survey and mostly centre on the region of Western India that includes Aurangabad, Ahmadnagar and Poona. There are also miscellaneous rural life scenes, portraits of an unidentified man (Codrington?), postcards of the Alps, some negatives of the interiors of European churches and 7 colour transparencies of a family holiday in England. The collection belonged to Kenneth de Burgh Codrington who was in the Indian Army (1917-21) and later worked in the Indian Section at the V & A. |
